SayBridge (“SayBridge,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) respects your privacy and is committed to handling your information responsibly.
This Privacy Policy explains what information may be processed when you use the SayBridge mobile application (“App” or “Service”), how that information is used, when it may be shared, and the choices available to you.
By using SayBridge, you acknowledge the practices described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with this Policy, please discontinue use of the App.
The information processed through SayBridge depends on the features you choose to use.
To provide translation features, SayBridge may process:
l Text that you type, paste, or select;
l Audio captured for voice or conversation translation;
l Images captured with the camera or selected from your photo library;
l Text recognized from images;
l Text transcribed from speech;
l Source and target language settings; and
l Source text and translated results used for playback, copying, or sharing.
Depending on the feature, this content may be processed on your device or transmitted to the service providers identified in Section 7.1. Submitted content may contain personal information that you choose to include.
SayBridge provides vocabulary-learning materials, writing templates, and sample articles.
Viewing these materials generally does not require you to submit personal information. We may collect limited usage information, such as which sections or features are opened, to understand how the App is used and improve its content and interface.
When you use SayBridge, we or our third-party service providers may automatically collect limited technical information, including:
l Device model and device type;
l Operating system and version;
l App version;
l Device language and regional settings;
l Screen size and general device configuration;
l Internet Protocol address;
l Network connection type;
l App launch and session information;
l Features used and interactions within the App;
l Advertising identifiers, where permitted;
l Crash reports, diagnostic information, and performance data.
This information is used to operate the App, measure feature usage, display advertising, troubleshoot technical problems, and improve stability.
SayBridge may request the following device permissions when you use the relevant feature:
Microphone access is used to capture spoken content for voice translation and conversation translation. Audio is processed only after you activate a voice-based feature.
Camera access is used when you take a picture for camera translation. SayBridge uses the captured content to recognize and translate visible text.
Photo library access is used only when you choose a photo for image translation or save a translation result to your device.
Speech recognition access is used to convert spoken content into text for voice and conversation translation. Depending on your device and language, recognition may occur on your device or through Apple’s speech-recognition service.
Device permissions are separate from your consent to transmit translation content to Baidu Translate.
We may use information processed through SayBridge to:
l Provide text translation;
l Provide voice and conversation translation;
l Recognize and translate text captured by the camera;
l Recognize and translate text contained in selected photos;
l Play translated text aloud;
l Allow you to copy source or translated text;
l Maintain and improve App functionality;
l Analyze feature usage and general performance;
l Diagnose crashes, errors, and technical problems;
l Protect the security and integrity of the Service;
l Display and measure advertisements;
l Respond to support inquiries and privacy requests;
l Comply with applicable legal obligations.
We do not use translation content to determine your eligibility for employment, credit, insurance, housing, healthcare, or other similarly significant decisions.
Where applicable, we process personal information under one or more of the following legal bases:
l Performance of the Service: Processing translation content to provide a feature you request;
l Consent: Accessing the microphone, camera, photo library, speech recognition service, or advertising identifier, and transmitting translation content to Baidu Translate after obtaining any consent required by applicable law.
l Legitimate Interests: Maintaining the App, analyzing general usage, preventing misuse, and improving stability;
l Legal Obligations: Processing information when required to comply with applicable law or valid legal requests.
You may withdraw permission-based consent through the controls provided by your device. Withdrawal does not affect processing that occurred before consent was withdrawn.
SayBridge may display advertisements provided by third-party advertising partners.
Advertising providers may process information such as:
l Advertising identifiers;
l IP address;
l Device type and operating system;
l App interactions;
l General advertising performance information;
l Approximate region inferred from an IP address.
Where required, personalized advertising or tracking will be used only after obtaining the necessary consent through the applicable system authorization or consent interface.
SayBridge does not provide translation text, voice recordings, selected photos, vocabulary content, or writing content to advertising partners for the purpose of creating personalized advertisements.
When you use text playback, translated text may be processed by an on-device or external text-to-speech service to generate audio.
When you copy content, the selected text is placed on the device clipboard. Clipboard content may then be accessed by other applications according to your actions and the operating system’s controls. SayBridge is not responsible for how another application handles content after you paste it there.
We may share information only in the following circumstances:
Baidu Translate
SayBridge uses Baidu Translate to provide online translation. Depending on the feature used, the following information may be sent:
l Text Translation: Submitted text and source and target language settings;
l Voice and Conversation Translation: Transcribed text and language settings;
l Camera Translation: Text recognized from the captured image and language settings;
l Image Translation: The selected or cropped image, recognized text, and language settings.
Baidu Translate may also receive your IP address as part of the network connection. This information is transmitted to generate the requested translation.
Apple Speech Recognition
SayBridge uses Apple’s Speech framework for voice and conversation translation. Audio may be processed on your device or sent to Apple’s servers, depending on your device, language, and system configuration. When you request a translation, the resulting text is sent to Baidu Translate.

We may disclose information when reasonably necessary to comply with applicable laws, regulations, court orders, or legally valid government requests, or to protect the rights and safety of users, the public, or the Service.
Limited technical information may be processed when necessary to investigate security incidents, prevent fraud or misuse, and maintain the reliability of the App.
We do not sell translation text, voice content, or submitted photos.
Information stored locally by SayBridge remains on your device until you delete it, where that option is available, or remove the App and its local data.
Baidu states that personal information is retained for the shortest period necessary to provide its services and is deleted or anonymized after the applicable period, unless longer retention is required for legal, security, technical, or dispute-resolution purposes.
When Apple’s server-based speech recognition is used, Apple may retain related transcripts and request data for up to two years. A limited reviewed subset may be retained longer under Apple’s applicable privacy terms.
Deleting content stored locally in SayBridge does not automatically delete content previously transmitted to Baidu Translate, Apple, or another online service. You may contact us for assistance with an applicable deletion request.
We require service providers that receive personal information from SayBridge to provide the same or an equivalent level of protection as described in this Privacy Policy. We assess applicable safeguards concerning processing purposes, confidentiality, security, retention, deletion, and onward sharing, and require appropriate contractual protections where applicable.
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures intended to protect information against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, alteration, or disclosure.
These measures may include encrypted network transmission, access restrictions, provider reviews, and data minimization.
However, no internet transmission, electronic storage system, or security measure can guarantee absolute security. You should avoid submitting highly sensitive content for translation unless necessary.
Before translation content is sent to Baidu Translate, SayBridge identifies the recipient, explains what information will be transmitted and why, and requests your explicit consent.
You may decline. If you decline, the content will not be transmitted, but features requiring online translation will not be available. You may withdraw your consent through the privacy control provided in the App, which will stop future transmissions.
Camera, photo library, microphone, and speech recognition permissions are separate from consent to transmit translation content to Baidu Translate.
Depending on your country or region, you may have the right to:
l Request access to personal information associated with you;
l Request correction of inaccurate information;
l Request deletion of eligible information;
l Request restriction of certain processing;
l Object to certain processing based on legitimate interests;
l Withdraw consent where processing relies on consent;
l Request a portable copy of eligible information;
l Opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information where applicable;
l Lodge a complaint with the appropriate data-protection authority.
Because SayBridge does not require personal identification for its basic functions, we may not always be able to associate technical or de-identified information with a specific individual. We may request reasonable information to verify a privacy request.
To exercise an applicable privacy right, contact us using the information provided in Section 16.
California residents may have rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act, including the right to know, access, correct, or delete eligible personal information and to opt out of certain sales or sharing.
We do not sell translation content and voice content for monetary payment.
The use of third-party advertising services may be considered “sharing” under California law when information is used for cross-context behavioral advertising. Where applicable, you may exercise an opt-out right through the consent controls provided in the App or by contacting us.
We will not discriminate against you for exercising an applicable privacy right.
If the GDPR or similar European privacy laws apply to you, you may exercise the rights described in Section 10.
You may also object to processing based on legitimate interests and request information regarding safeguards used for international data transfers.
You have the right to submit a complaint to the data-protection authority responsible for your country or region.
SayBridge is not directed to children under the age of 13.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If the applicable law in a user’s country requires a higher minimum age, the higher age will apply.
If you believe that a child has submitted personal information through SayBridge, please contact us. We will review the request and take appropriate steps to delete eligible information.
SayBridge does not directly use browser cookies as part of its primary mobile functionality.
Third-party SDKs may use advertising identifiers, device identifiers, local storage, or similar technologies for advertising, analytics, fraud prevention, and service measurement.
The availability of controls for these technologies depends on the provider, device, region, and applicable consent requirements.
We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes to SayBridge, service providers, legal requirements, or privacy practices.
When this Policy changes, we will revise the “Last Updated” date. Where required, we will provide additional notice through the App or another appropriate method.
We encourage you to review this Policy periodically.
